16:9 is the standard widescreen aspect ratio used by virtually all modern TVs, monitors, YouTube videos, and HDTV broadcasts. It means the width is 1.78 times the height. Common resolutions: 1280×720, 1920×1080, 3840×2160.
What aspect ratio should I use for social media?+
Instagram feed: 1:1 or 4:5. Instagram Stories/Reels and TikTok: 9:16. YouTube: 16:9. Facebook feed: any, but 1:1 gets best engagement. Twitter: 16:9 or 2:1 for link cards.
