Comment utiliser Dog to Human Years
Enter your dog's age in human years and select their size category (small, medium, large, giant). The calculator converts to equivalent "dog years" using the veterinary-approved nonlinear formula that accounts for the rapid maturity in early years and the slower aging after that. Small dogs generally live longer than large breeds.

Questions fréquentes
Is the "7 years" rule accurate?+
No. The 7:1 ratio is a myth. Dogs mature much faster in their first two years (a 1-year-old dog is roughly equivalent to a 15-year-old human), then aging slows to about 4-5 human years per dog year depending on breed size.
Why do small dogs live longer?+
Scientists aren't entirely sure, but larger dogs grow faster and age faster at a cellular level. A Great Dane's average lifespan is 7-10 years, while a Chihuahua can live 14-16 years. The exact mechanism likely involves growth hormones and cellular stress.
