What is a realistic conversion rate?+
Industry standard for audience conversion is between 1% to 3%. Highly engaged, niche communities might push toward 5%, while completely generalized, massive followings (e.g. meme accounts) often sit below 0.5%.
Why are processing fees separate from platform fees?+
Standard platforms charge a software cut (e.g. Substack's 10%) but ALL platforms pass on the underlying credit card processing fee to you (usually Stripe or PayPal), which is an additional ~5% or $0.30 per transaction. We account for both.
