Why is the scale logarithmic?+
Human hearing perceives pitch logarithmically — each octave doubles the frequency. A log scale matches how we actually hear.
Do these show harmonics?+
The ranges shown are approximate fundamental ranges. Harmonics extend well above the fundamental and vary by instrument.
