Is the "7 years" rule accurate?+
No. The 7:1 ratio is a myth. Dogs mature much faster in their first two years (a 1-year-old dog is roughly equivalent to a 15-year-old human), then aging slows to about 4-5 human years per dog year depending on breed size.
