What is a "good" churn rate for SaaS?+
Generally, an annual churn rate of 5-7% is considered highly successful for most standard B2B SaaS businesses. If your monthly churn exceeds 5%, you are losing too many customers to realistically sustain high growth rates.
Why does customer churn matter more than acquisition?+
SaaS relies on Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR). If a bucket has a massive hole in the bottom (high churn), pouring more water in the top (expensive acquisition) is unsustainable. Keeping a user costs functionally nothing compared to paying to acquire a new one.
